Tattooing is an intimate, irreversible transaction between flesh and needle. By submitting an appointment request, you enter an absolute agreement with the ethical, health, and financial stipulations outlined below.
BOOKING & APPOINTMENT TERMS
The studio operates on strict, curated booking windows rather than an endless queue.
CURATED SELECTION
Books open quarterly for a 72-hour window. Submissions are not first-come, first-served. Moon selectively accepts projects aligning precisely with current conceptual research: cyber tribalism, raw dark blackwork, esoteric calligraphy, and sacred biological anomalies.
DESIGN INTEGRITY
Custom work requires artistic sovereignty. Reference imagery is analyzed for thematic resonance, not copied line-for-line. Final stencils are revealed in-person on session day. Minor adjustments are welcomed; entirely new conceptual pivots will forfeit the session and deposit.
Must be at least 18 years of age on the day of the appointment with government-issued photo ID (Passport, Driver’s License, State ID). No parental consent permits under any circumstances.
DEPOSIT & FINANCIAL TERMS
Transacting with clarity. Mutual investment in time, somatic space, and craft.
Flat, non-refundable deposit. Deducted entirely from the final session balance.
Pre-drawn flash designs are priced individually by size, anatomical placement, and line density ($250 – $750).
Large scale freehand or bespoke projects. Minimum session duration is 3 hours ($600 studio minimum).
Remaining balances are payable at the conclusion of the tattoo session. Accepted formats:
CANCELLATION & 48-HR NOTICE
Life happens, but empty chairs disrupt production and prevent other clients from receiving work.
Full deposit roll-over. Allowed 1 time within 60 calendar days without forfeiture.
Deposit is permanently forfeited to cover studio setup and lost block. A new $100 deposit is required to re-queue.
Client will be permanently archived and barred from future booking windows at Flesh Pursuit Collective.
Do NOT attend if experiencing flu, COVID symptoms, skin infections, or open wounds in the tattoo zone. Notify Moon immediately. Health takes precedence, and exceptions for rollover are assessed on a case-by-case basis.
FLESH PURSUIT STUDIO ETIQUETTE
The studio is a private sanctuary—not a street walk-in storefront. Total respect for bodily autonomy and focus.
You are allowed one guest for emotional groundedness. No posses, children, or non-service animals. The workspace must remain clinically sterile and low-stimulus.
No clients under the influence of alcohol, prescription sedatives, or illicit substances. Alcohol thins blood and impairs somatic endurance. Intoxicated clients will be dismissed with instant deposit forfeiture.
Over-the-counter numbing agents severely alter skin elasticity and ink retention. Do NOT apply numbing cream prior without explicit written clearance from Moon.
Arrive well-rested, fully fed (heavy carbs/protein 1-2 hours prior), and heavily hydrated. Bring sealed non-alcoholic drinks and high-glucose snacks. Wear loose, dark apparel that provides direct anatomical access without stretching.
RADICAL CONSENT
We maintain zero tolerance for racism, homophobia, transphobia, fatphobia, sexual harassment, or boundary violations. You hold sovereignty over your flesh at every millisecond: request a pause, adjustment, or break at any moment without shame.
HEALING & AFTERCARE CODEX
The session creates an intentional biological wound. Longevity and pigment density depend entirely on aftercare discipline.
Keep the sterile polyurethane medical film in place for 3 to 5 full days. It is completely normal for blood, ink, and plasma to pool underneath forming an ink bubble. Do not puncture or drain. If leaking occurs or the film peels over the tattoo perimeter, proceed to removal immediately.
Peel under running lukewarm water by slowly pulling the edge downward along the skin surface (never rip upward like a bandage). Wash thoroughly using fingertips and unscented antibacterial liquid soap (e.g., Dr. Bronner's Baby Unscented or Dial Gold). Pat gently dry with clean single-use paper towels. Air dry for 15 minutes.
Apply a microscopic veil of fragrance-free lotion (Lubriderm, Aveeno, or unscented shea butter) 2-3 times daily. Do not suffocate the skin. Never use heavy Vaseline or Aquaphor. Expect light flaking, peeling, and itchiness. Absolute zero picking or scratching.
PROTOCOL FREQUENTLY ASKED
Direct operational answers regarding touchups, custom previews, and session realities.
One complimentary touchup is provided within 90 days of the original session date, provided you adhered to the specified aftercare regimen. Touchups required due to pet scratching, picking scabs, or swimming within the first 3 weeks will incur an equipment fee ($50). Hands, fingers, feet, and knees have higher cellular turnover and are subject to nominal fee-based renewals.
Designs are not sent out digitally beforehand to prevent intellectual property theft and unnecessary overthinking outside anatomical context. Moon prepares designs and freehand compositions specifically tailored to your body during the designated appointment time. We allocate sufficient time for stencil repositioning, sizing calibrations, and minor line adjustments together.
Zero judgment. Listening to physiological feedback is critical. If your body goes into shock or endurance fails, Moon will cleanly seal the artwork at a logical milestone. You only pay for time tattooed (or flat fee proportion). A secondary session can be scheduled once the skin resets, typically 3-4 weeks later.
Flesh Pursuit Studio is located on 25th Street in Uptown Oakland, 4 blocks from 19th St Oakland BART Station. Street meter parking is available on 25th and Telegraph Avenue. The studio is located on the second floor with elevator access available upon advance request for those with mobility aids.
